President Biden continued to deflect blame from the country’s escalating inflation crisis Thursday, blaming Vladimir Putin for record-high gas prices and energy costs.
“Americans are feeling Putin’s gas price hike at the pump. That’s why today, I’m authorizing the release of 1 million barrels a day from our Strategic Petroleum Reserve — and taking steps to lay a new foundation for lasting American energy independence through clean energy,” posted Biden on Twitter.

Nancy Pelosi echoed the party line during a press briefing Thursday.
“We have the Putin Price Hike at the pump … The price of, of oil and gasoline — gas at the pump started going up when he started circling Ukraine … There is very interest [sic] in our caucus in stopping price gouging on the part of the — of the industry,” explained the Speaker of the House.
