This week we have seen just how bad woke culture is for the world and its on full display during the World Economic Forum (WEF) meeting in Switzerland. On Wednesday, a speaker at the WEF decided one billion humans need to “stop eating meat” in order to have a “big impact on the current food system” all with the goal to help fight climate change.
The chairman of the German-based conglomerate Siemens AG, Jim Hagemann Snabe said “If a billion people stop eating meat, I tell you, it has a big impact. Not only does it have a big impact on the current food system, but it will also inspire innovation of food systems.”
In a study conducted by the Food and Agriculture Organization, they claim raising livestock causes 14.5% of “greenhouse gas emissions.” In an op-ed published by the WEF, two professors from Indiana University are suggesting people and animals start eating insect protein. So they’re now pushing no more meat and we must eat bugs. No thank you.
However The Netherlands are taking these claims quite seriously and going so far as to seize 3,000 farms, shut them all down, all to reduce carbon emissions by 50% by 2030. The Dutch farmers have been protesting for months because their livelihood is being stripped away.
During Snabe’s speech, he asked “I can inspire you to maybe look at an organization called Eat — easy to remember, Eat — who have all the facts on this and who have the policies necessary, the innovations necessary and the scale necessary in order to make food systems sustainable and healthy.”
According to the Eat website, this nonprofit claims it is “a fair and sustainable global food system for healthy people and planet” that would “transform our global food system through sound science, impatient disruption and novel partnerships.”
“I predict that we will have proteins not coming from meat in the future, they will probably taste even better. So why are we trying to mimic meat if we can have a better taste? They will be zero carbon and much healthier than the kind of food that we eat today,” Snabe said. This has to be joke, right?
