Prosecutors filed a misdemeanor hit-and-run charge against Pelosi on Friday for crashing his brown convertible into a parked car and fleeing the scene on July 3. Napa County sheriff’s deputies responded around 2:30 p.m. to the 6700 block of Yount Street in Yountville, where a 911 caller pointed them to a vehicle that had slammed into the rear of a parked Tesla on the shoulder — hard enough to cause major damage and shove the parked car’s right tire up onto the curb.
Pelosi left the scene quickly, but he didn’t get far — the crash left his own car disabled. When police tracked him down, he admitted to hitting something but claimed he wasn’t aware what he struck.
