Writer and commentator Kay Smythe spoke with Joe Pags this week to discuss the nation’s biggest issues; asking when can we finally stop all the talk about gender?
“Growing up, we referred to anything we didn’t know the gender of as a ‘He.’ It’s like we’re afraid to say anything anymore,” said Pags.
“I’m from Wales. We were colonized by the Romans. We had our own language. This stuff still goes on,” explained Smythe. “I’ve noticed that I have to dumb-down my writing very significantly. It’s embarrassing.”
“I got a note from an editor about simplifying my sentences. I had to explain what I wrote like three or four times,” she added.
