Missouri State Senator Holly Rehder stopped by the Joe Pags Show this week to discuss her life, latest book, and explains how the United States is STILL the land of opportunity for those willing to work for it.
“I always wanted to get out there and make something of myself. We now have big government taking that drive away,” said Pagliarulo.
“I was standing in the free lunch line for years. I never wanted my children to stand in the free lunch line,” explained Rehder.
“I grew up with a mother who had mental illness. At 15 I had to quit school to take care of my family. I had my first baby at 16. I looked at myself in the trailer park and I decided that I needed something different for me and my daughter,” she added.
‘This is America. It took me 17 years to get my college degree, but that’s what we have. We have so much opportunity,” Rehder concludes.
